I am humbled by the people in our life. I am humbled by the support we have gotten from family and friends, and I can’t wait to share with you in more detail how it all came about leading up to this trip and how God blessed us specifically through different individuals and circumstances. I do plan on waiting until after the trip to share this though, as I’m sure I will have more to add while we are there! I really want to give the whole story – from the beginning, all the way up until we get back – so make sure you check back in a few weeks for that update!
In the meantime, here are some ways that you can be praying for us, and our team:
~Please pray for our travels that it go by quick & painless and that God’s covering just protect us (especially against any oppression or spiritual attacks that we come in contact with) throughout this whole trip.
~Pray for the people we will meet and work with, that God just prepares their hearts, that the communication barriers are quickly broken, and that we aren’t just ‘another team’ coming through, but that the hand of Jesus can clearly be seen in each and every one of us as we get to know each other better.
~Pray that we fit-in and make life-long relationships with the other members of the team, and the people there. Pray that we create relationships where we can be completely vulnerable, open, and honest – where a clear and easy connection is made as we experience what it really means to be the church.
~Please pray for our health while we are there – specifically against sun-poisoning for our fair Irish/French & Polish skin as we bake so close to the equator!!
~And lastly, please pray that AJ and I can make it a priority to find some time to spend alone together each day as we process what we are experiencing, and that we come back from this trip with a stronger and healthier relationship than ever before.
The next time we post, we will officially be on African Soil. I’m so excited!!!
